How to Whitelist YouTube Channels for Licensing

Important Notes About Whitelisting

1. One-Time License:
   Whitelisting grants a one-time license to the specified YouTube channel for a single video in perpetuity.

   • If the track is used in another video on the same channel, a new whitelist request is required.
   • If the track is used on another channel, you must also submit a new whitelist request.

2. Best Practices:

   • To ensure proper licensing, we recommend triggering a whitelist request per download, purchase, or specific usage event.

3. Eligibility:

   • Non-Exclusive Tracks: Whitelisting applies by default to all non-exclusive tracks.
   • Exclusive Tracks: If you'd like us to additionally manage your exclusive tracks through YouTube, email us at support@thatpitch.com.

Option 1: Manually Whitelist Channels

If you’re handling a few requests, this method works well:

1. Log in to your That Pitch account.
2. Navigate to Settings > Licensing.
3. Enter the full YouTube channel URL in the provided field.
4. Click Grant License, and you’re all set! The channel is now whitelisted for a single video.

Option 2: Automate Whitelisting with a Webhook

For frequent whitelisting requests, streamline the process with our webhook automation. Check below for different options depending on your preferred implementation!

No-Code Setup

No technical team? No worries! You can automate the process using Zapier, a no-code tool:

1. Request Your User ID and Webhook URL:
   Email us at support@thatpitch.com with the subject line:
   "Library Request for User ID & Webhook URL – YouTube Whitelisting."
   We’ll send you your unique user ID and the webhook URL.
   
   

2. Get Started on Zapier:
   Sign up at Zapier or log in.
   
   

3. Create a New Zap:

   • Trigger: Choose an event like a download, purchase or form submission.
   • Action: Use Webhook by Zapier to send a POST request.

4. Set Up the Webhook:

   • Method: POST
   • URL: Use the webhook URL provided by our support team.
   • Headers:
     • Key: Content-Type
     • Value: application/json

1. Request Your User ID and Webhook URL:

2. Request Payload:
